Driving Directions
La Posticcia is located in Central Tuscany, just 20 minutes from the main A1 Motorway. It is approx. 20 minutes from Arezzo, 45 mins from Florence, 1.5 hours from Pisa airport and about 2.5 hours from Rome airport. Nearest train stations are Arezzo and Montevarchi.
Directions from Florence Airport
Exit airport. Follow signs for Autostrada A1 direction ROME. After approx. 50 kms exit at Valdarno, after paying the toll, follow signs for Montevarchi. At the end of the road where you see a large railway flyover, join the roundabout and immediately filter left, turn left under the flyover and immediately filter right following signs for Terranuovo B.n/ Loro Ciuffenna.
Just after this, take the first right at the roundabout following signs for Arezzo, then further along the road at the second roundabout take the first exit, again following signs for Arezzo. Go straight on, eventually going uphill and round a sharp bend. After approx. 3 kms you will come to a junction at the top of the road. Turn right and follow signs for Arezzo. Go straight on until you come to San Giustino. Just after the bridge, turn left following signs for “Villa la Grotta”. At the roundabout go straight on.
Continue along this road until you come to a tiny village called Sercognano. Just after Sercognano, you’ll see a private driveway on your right with a sign for La Posticcia. Drive up the track, you’ll see the house in front of you.
Directions from Pisa Airport
Turn right out of the airport and follow signs to Firenze (Florence) for approx. 70 kms, look for signs for Scandicci, turn off and take the A1 (toll) motorway in the Roma (Rome) direction. After approx. 50 kms exit at Valdarno, after paying the toll, follow signs for Montevarchi. The Google Street View Map shows the approach to the driveway from the opposite direction. The route can be viewed using Street View at least up until the end of the driveway opposite the signpost 'Sercognano'.
